Top 3 Places to Run

Posted on

Today I went for a run.  Nothing too unusual about that.  But I did think how incredible the views were - even more so than usual.  This morning I was lucky enough to run along the beaches of Bournemouth and Poole, around the Sandbanks Peninsula and over the Cliffs where you can see nothing but beautiful seaside scenery.  This made me think - is this my favourite place to run?  So of course I had to pick my 3 favourite places to run - what's yours?

1.  Bradgate Park, Leicestershire, England.

I was fortunate enough to grow up near here and did a lot of my youthful running in this park.  It was the home of Lady Jane Grey, famously Queen of England for 9 days. The ruins of the castle are still there surrounded by wild deer and fantastic scenery.

Many famous Loughborough University athletes have used Bradgate Park for countless miles of training including Seb Coe, Paula Radcliffe and David Moorcroft.

My favourite time of year to run here is an early summer morning.  It is a magical place. There are hills galore so it is challenging too.  An epic run!

2.  Poole and Bournemouth, Dorset, UK.

As mentioned in my introduction this is a special place to run - it simply has everything.  You can get the chain ferry across to Studland where the off road trails are endless and the scenery like nothing else. What I love most about running here is the variation.  You can run along the beach, over the cliffs and off road on the trails - all in one run!

There is something different about a run by the sea, the air feels fresher and you find yourself away from it here - almost like meditation.

3.  London, UK.

Lastly I just love a run along the river in London.  The history of England is along every step.  Running past the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and over Tower Bridge is just unreal every single time.  You never get bored of it!

There are always plenty of runners on both sides of the river so you can always find people to say hi to.  My ideal run is from Battersea Park running down the river towards Big Ben and all the way down to Tower Bridge.  Head over here and back the other side of river going past the Eye and another view of the Houses of Parliament.  I have never ran anywhere and time gone so quickly.

We would love to hear your top 3 places to run - please let us know on Facebook or Twitter.

Thanks and have a great week,

Healthy regards

Runderwear TriSuit

I rode 57km in mid summer with my new Runderwear Trisuit and found it reasonable comfortable and supportive. The seat pad is a little thinner than my other trisuit and makes for less comfort on the bike, but I suppose it would make for a more comfortable swim and run during competition. The material is more compressive than the usual Runderwear gear but is not restrictive. Reasonably happy with my purchase.

An amazing product, perfect for long runs in the hot summer of the UAE. Zero chafing, 100% comfort!

Great Trail Socks

I struggle to find good trail socks. I've worn these socks a few times on the trails now, they're comfortable and are good for movement on the downhills. Because of the double layer, they are a bit hot to wear in the summer heat.

Comfortable

Pretty comfortable sports bra. I like that it can be done up at the back rather than having to pull it over my head.

Love them!

Never had sports hipsters like this before, they're so comfortable and seamless makes them great to wear with tights!
